Juan R Mella-Catinchi, MD MPH is assistant professor of surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the DeWitt Daughtry Family Department of Surgery, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr Mella-Catinchi received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed a General Surgery residency at Boston University, where he served as part of the trauma surgery team during the Boston Marathon bombing tragedy and was elected Administrative Chief Resident in his final year of training.
