She wants patients to know they can depend on her and explains that she forms relationships “by demonstrating consistency, compassion, and quality care.” When not with patients, Dr. Hartey can be found spending time with family or enjoying the outdoors. She especially loves swimming, camping, and visiting remote places around the world.

    Growing up, Dr. Berenice Gerard explains that she “witnessed firsthand the detrimental consequences of a lack of direct access to care,” which ignited her interest in the medical field. “My favorite part of my profession is the privilege that I’m afforded to get to know and connect with patients at their most vulnerable state and improve their wellbeing,” she says. She emphasizes prevention in her practice and is dedicated to “advancing health equity.” She strives to “create an environment where patients feel embraced and cared for like family.” When not with patients, Dr. Gerard can be found spending quality time with family and friends. She also enjoys traveling and catching up on her favorite shows in her down time.
